"The Rainbow Cake Project" was created in response to the growing rift between supporters and opponents of Taiwan's impending marriage equality bill. The dialog between both sides eventually transformed from strongly opinionated to downright hostile, disparaging, and offensive. Feeling disheartened, several advertising and filmmaking professionals collaborated with a bakery to produce this film. The goal is to inspire and encourage the public to have conversations that are mutually respectful and tolerant. At the end, love won and Taiwan became the first Asian country to allow marriage in the LGBT community.
